There is still a class of people who would be patient and tolerant with the kind of life that they lead unless their parents search and land with a good groom or bride for the purpose of marriage and have little or nothing to complain about. There was a time when the whole world was bound on these principles and people had a heartfelt admiration for the arranged marriage system. The larger whole that the society is, even had the idea of looking at people who went against the world’s norms and called them people who lacked morals. There is nothing wrong in dating, loving and then marrying a person is a sunrise that most people have woken up to in the very near recent times.

The reasons being the developed place that the world has come on to be in the recent years. The idea of dating became a phenomenal process at the dawn of a new era in the early 20th century when the comparatively more developed countries of America and Europe went on to proclaim that the world is a large place and has too many problems for a person to be faced with the extra nuisance of being married to a person who is an enemy to progress and free living.

People of the younger generations are gradually going against the idea of settling down in marriage with a person whom they have understood half or are not acquainted with. There are people of the less allowing countries like India who are also buying into the idea of dating a person and knowing him or her fully and then going on to commit themselves. The phenomenal increase in the number of dating partners and couples in the world is a testimony to the fact that people are buying into the idea in a fair proportion. Even families of the most disciplined orders are encouraging the idea of allowing youngsters to interact freely and completely with the person that they intend marrying in order to settle for nothing but the very best. If one were to consider it truly then there is little reason for objecting to this idea of dating a man or woman to know him or her well and then settle for a stable and committed relationship.

The reasoning that youngsters provide for the basis of supporting the idea of dating a person are that there is no point in marrying a stranger and there is no real reason to believe that a marriage or a relationship arranged under the watch of elders has to be a success of the highest orders. The cases of violence and tremulousness in arranged marriages have shown a higher shift in all times that have gone by and people are largely supporting dating to this regard. Countries like USA, Canada, Belgium, Singapore, South Africa and Australia are recording the census to the effect that there has been an upward movement in the number of self arranged marriages that are taking place in the society and this move is an encouragement to the idea of the world as a happier and more peaceful place to live in!
